The Real Siam Reap

Even though the Tourist Ghetto seems like the overriding factor in Siem Reap, it is actually quite small.

The Old Market and the Night Market don't service Cambodians. These "Psars" are simply sprawling knick-knack depots full of t-shirts and cheap Buddha heads.

However, a short stroll away and one is back in Cambodia. My guesthouse is just outside the tourist zone. Three hundred meters south is a real Cambodian market. This morning it was in full swing.
