Sambor Prey Kuk II

This was one of my favorite temples of all the complexes.  Many of the doorways have been reinforced or  braced to save the structures.  This temple tower, further back and thus less viewed, has been left alone.  The arch of the bricks is still holding, but it is a spooky feeling to stand in the archway under what appears to be the most tentative of balances.

The jungle is busy both claiming its own, and retaining the past.  This temple is being simultaneously destroyed and propped up by  the growth of this tree.

An even more fanciful tree versus temple tableau marks the entrance to the south complex.

It was a wondrous day of strolling down jungle paths, only to stumble upon yet another temple.  Besides the three main complexes, there are smaller, more isolated temples if one is willing to walk a little farther.  And the walking was a joy, shaded by the jungle and on soft, sandy trails.
