To the Temples

This is not the road to Angkor Wat.  It is a good view of the Cambodian countryside and a bit of really good road for the rural folks.

My faithful Tuk-tuk guy waited outside my guesthouse all of yesterday afternoon in the hopes of my needing some schlepping.  He was still there this morning, grinning away, so we bargained a bit anb then headed out of town.  Today's destination was a Pre-Angkor temple complex know as Sambor Prey Kuk.

All good things must come to and end.  One of the quickest things to come to an end in Cambodia is the pavement.  Like any prudent travels about to be jolted and jounced, we stopped for a piss prior to the pounding.

This is flat country., flat rice growing country.  Along the road, there are simple Khmer houses on stilts.  Behind the houses, stretching until the next road, are the rice fields.

Proper attire for dusty Tuk-tuking.  You want to trust me on this one.  It may look like "Gilligan-goes-Bandito," but between the dust and the wind and the sun, its a lot more comfortable to cover up and keep the dusty bits out of your lungs.
